World's Greatest Drummer 2008

Sat 15 Nov 8:00pm at Town Hall

In the 29th September 2007, Palmerlive held the sell-out concert ‘The World’s Greatest Drummer’ to celebrate the music and the man who most agree was the world’s greatest drummer, Buddy Rich.

‘‘A top quality band playing ‘full-on’ accompanying each drummer, and so
many legendary figures on one stage, made my night. The finale was
astounding.” Kevin Thomas, audience member.

This year, six of the UK’s leading drummers from a variety of musical
backgrounds and fresh from touring all over the world, perform the music made famous by Buddy Rich. They are joined by the superb ‘The World’s Greatest Drummer Big Band’, where only the best UK session musicians have been selected.

Featuring UK leading drummers…

Steve White Paul Weller, The Players
Gary Husband John McLaughlin, Level 42
Karl Brazil James Blunt, Bodyrockers, James Morrison
Darrin Mooney Primal Scream
Pete Cater Pete Cater Big Band
Ian Palmer Georgie Fame, The Liquid Theory

Experience a very unique show, the only of its kind to appear in Town Hall to date.

It’s full of passion with quality drumming at its very best. See drummers
perform Buddy Rich’s music and then join forces to perform a heart stopping finale. We guarantee you will be on your feet and inspired by The World’s Greatest Drummer, suitable for all the family and all musical tastes!

Unfortunately, Jon Brookes of The Charlatans is unable to perform in The World’s Greatest Drummer. This is because he now has commitments with The Charlatans.

We are pleased to announce that Darrin Mooney of Primal Scream will now be performing .
