Sat 4 Jul 8:00pm at Town Hall

Eric Delaney

Eric Delaney

This year we are celebrating 100 years since the birth of the man who almost single handedly brought the drum kit, as we know it today, out from the back of the band and into the limelight. That man was of course the one and only Gene Krupa. This is a tribute to him and the bands of the Swing Era, including; Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Buddy Rich, Benny Goodman and Woody Herman.

Eric Delaney

In 1940 a 16 year old Eric Delaney won the title of ‘Britain’s Best Swing Drummer’ – the rest is history. He has played with every name that you can think of and is still as popular as ever.

His new book The Magnificent Eric Delaney has just been published.

Come along and hear him playing on his double bass drum kit, his timpani and marching snare drum.
