For the second year running, Birmingham Post readers voted the concert hall as Best Arts and Entertainment Venue in the annual event.

General Manager Chris Baldock thanked voters, saying, ‘We are thrilled to win again, it is always a particular pleasure to win an award which has been voted for by audiences and we would like to thank them and the Birmingham Post readers who made this possible’.

Andrew Jowett, Director of Town Hall and Symphony Hall, yesterday received the Richie Outstanding Contribution award for his services to Broad Street, marking two decades at the helm of one of the world’s greatest concert halls.

After receiving the award, Andrew said ‘It is a real privilege to receive this accolade. Although it came as a complete shock to me, I’m absolutely delighted!’

The awards ceremony, which took place at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, was organised by Broad Street Business Improvement District [BID] and was hosted by BRMB’s Russ Morris with new drive time presenters Foxy and Giuliano.
