Development Manager - Individuals
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with a passion for music and the arts, to join our busy Development team and raise funds from individuals by developing and implementing a strategic programme of fundraising, to contribute towards the overall Development target for Town Hall & Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
Salary c£25,000 per annum plus benefits
Maternity Cover up to June 2009 (to be confirmed)Key Accountabilities
- Manage and develop the THSH direct mail programme, writing direct mail appeals, overseeing in-house mailings and maintaining suitable records on database
- Manage and maintain THSH regular givers and develop regular giving programme, including annual upgrades and recruiting of new supporters to this method of giving
- To ensure that all gifts are given tax-effectively and undertake regular gift aid claims
- Research and implement a major giving programme
- Manage relationships with existing individual supporters, including organising events, receptions etc
- Responsible for producing monthly budget reports and target reviews
- Recruit and develop new supporters
- Develop and implement new fundraising opportunities
- Maintain customer records on database, including reporting and exporting mailing data
- Support the Friends Administrator in servicing the Friends Committee and developing THSH Friends Scheme
- Support both the Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Development Managers
Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties when necessary
Skills and Experience
- Experience in a similar donor development role
- Proven track record in reaching set income targets
- A strategic approach to fundraising opportunities
- Ability to write direct mail appeals
- Good management skills
- A clear understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998
- Computer skills including Microsoft office
- Good telephone manner
- Team player
