Assistant Marketing Manager
We are looking for a highly motivated individual, with a passion for music and the arts, to join our busy marketing team.
Duties include managing and implementing event marketing campaigns, supervising day-to-day campaign work, copywriting, and producing print, advertising, direct marketing and e-marketing materials.
You should be an accomplished marketer, highly literate with strong attention to detail, excellent communication and computer skills. Relevant previous experience in a similar role is essential.
Salary (£20,144 per annum plus benefits)
Key Accountabilities
- Managing individual event marketing campaigns, liaising with event promoters and managing event campaign budgets.
- Monitoring day-to-day marketing campaign work, advising the Marketing Assistants to ensure quality standards, budgets and timescales are met.
- Deputising for the Marketing Manager at internal and external meetings when required.
- Liaising with colleagues across the organisation, to obtain information for marketing campaigns.
- Producing and overseeing the production of the THSH What’s On guide and other print and marketing materials, in conjunction with marketing team members.
- Writing, editing and proofreading promotional copy for use in print and on the Internet.
- Executing direct mail and email shots, encompassing generating data from the Audience View box office system, writing copy, organising and overseeing in house & external mailings.
- Maintaining the What’s On section of the THSH website with up to date show information, assisting in the upkeep of other areas of the site.
- Managing print & publicity distribution around Town Hall and Symphony Hall Birmingham and key outlets in the region.
- Supervising the maintenance of customer records held on the Audience View box office system.
- Administration and filing, using finance and diary software as necessary.
- Assisting at marketing events for which occasional evening and weekend work is required.
- Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties that are reasonably comparable.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a marketing role, preferably in an Arts environment, including staff supervision and campaign budget management.
- Knowledge of print, advertising and website production.
- Computer literate to include word processing, spreadsheets, databases, websites and image manipulation.
- Literate with good copywriting and proofing skills and attention to detail.
- Communication skills, including team working as well as managing relationships with external promoters/clients and suppliers.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Experience of, or strong interest in, the Arts and Entertainment industry. Knowledge of classical music would be helpful.
